Hovering is related to my fascination with things caught between mediums and surfaces. Always a fan of Monet’s pallet and subject matter, I realized that the optical worlds of light and surface he often painted were similar to my own, although I think the resin allows me to explore a multi-dimensional surface. “hovering” is a deconstruction of that relationship, removing the representational connection the naturalistic pallet may invoke and foregrounding my artistic expression.
